Practice Schedule

During the Summer we train every Sunday at the Gingins Centre Sportif, Route de Chiblins Gingins

For all age groups we begin at 10:00 with a 10 minute warm up all together followed by a 5 minute explanation of how the sessions will work on that day.

The scheduled finish time for all is 12 noon. That said, we do go with the flow, and for the Under 7s play can finish earlier depending on willingness as lasting until noon can get a bit long for the little ones, whilst some of the older kids play beyond noon sometimes if the weather is good and they're having fun.

The organisation of the sessions is generally in the different age groups, i.e. U7 (aka Nippers), U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17/U19, and we aim to cater for the different skill levels so rest assured you will enjoy the experience.

Following feedback we've received and discussions among the coaches we've changed things around a bit following the summer break this year. Each Sunday we'll set up different training stations that will focus on the different cricket skills. After the warm up the coaches will give a quick explanation on how the session will work that day, the groups identified and off you'll go.

Cricket is a game best played in good weather! Here in Switzerland, rain or bad weather can be very localised so it could be sunny in Geneva but raining in Gingins. In case of poor weather (rain, hail or snow - all possible at any given time of the year) the Sunday session will be cancelled or as we say in cricket language 'Rain Stopped Play'.

So if the weather is looking unsettled please check on our Twitter page as from 8:45am each Sunday before setting off.

There's nothing like standing around in cold weather to dim youngsters love of the game so if the weather's looking poorly we will cancel but rest assured that our aim at all times is to play whenever we can.

Gingins is easy to reach: take the Nyon exit (exit #11) from the autoroute and head toward St Cergue. You'll pass the Signy Centre on your left and at the 2nd roundabout, turn left and follow the signs to Gingins.
