Gingins u13 team finished 3rd in the u13 Romande Cup held at the Bout-du-Monde ground in Geneva. The tournament was contested by 2 other teams Basel Dragons JCC - Geneva RYCC (winners) and Zurich Crickets CC (runners up).

Day 1
Basel/GRYCC beat the team by 79 runs. Ciaran Feakes and Anhad Sheikh both bowled economically but with no reward. The team also found the Basel bowling too hot to handle as only Erik Scanlon 11(29) showed any resistance.
BDJCC-GRYCC 141-3(24) vs GCC 62-9(20.2)

The team was beaten by Zurich by 66 runs. Zurich made a decent score of 104. Ciaran Feakes was the pick of the bowlers with 1-3 in 3 overs. GCC folded up for just 38 with none of the batsmen able to make an impact.
ZCCC 104-6(24) vs GCC 38-9(13.5)

Day 2

The team showed much more resistance to Basel/GRYCC a second time around, batting out the 24 overs to finish at 71-7. None of the batsmen crossed double figures in runs but everyone did in balls faced. The improvement extended to the bowling as well with Patrick Rechter 2-1(2) and Dev Tiwari 1-3(3) leading the pack. Basel/GRYCC were struggling at 40-7 before a last wicket partnership of 35 runs took them to a close victory.
GCC 71-7(24) vs BDJCC-GRYCC 75-7(22.3)

The drastic improvement in form continued in the next game. Zurich were unable to handle the motivated youngsters and collapsed to score just 61. Dev Tiwari 2-4(2) and Isa Abbas 2-3(2) opened the bowling in style. Anhad Sheikh, Michael Boyle, Aaditya Batla, Samuel Baker and Ciaran Feakes all kept it tight. In with a big chance to upset Zurich, the batsmen, who had been disappointing through the tournament, showed up when it mattered. The team cantered home for the loss of just 3 wickets. Erik Scanlon 16(22) led the line with special mentions for Patrick Rechter, Anhad Sheikh and Isa Abbas who batted their full quota of balls. Well done lads.
